Next General Meeting:
April 25, 2017, 7:00—9:00 Member Meeting and Demonstration - Anton Horishny.
With bold color and energetic brush strokes Anton Horishnyk creates larger-than-life images and entices viewers’ rapt attention to his original paintings.
Diagnosed with narcolepsy at the age of 14, Horishnyk abandoned his dream of becoming a graphic artist. “Sitting at a desk for long hours won’t work for me,” he said. Still, he couldn’t deny the passion he felt creating artwork and knew his future lie in painting.
Today, Horishnyk creates bold and colorful paintings of iconic people that many generations know and love. “I also paint pictures of people who aren’t famous – that is until I transform their image on canvas,” he said. “My art will continue to evolve and hopefully, will be appreciated and make people smile.”
Creative Process Demo:
Anton Horishnyk is a self taught artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota who paints big, bold and colorful paintings.
Anton welcomes commissions from people looking to transform a favorite image of a, place or pet into a painting that will capture the essence of the image in his own style.
Anton uses impostor knives as well as large brushes, even finger painting. Texture is key and heavy bodied acrylics work great for this feature
